Dear Students,

Dr. David NunanWe are pleased to announce that Dr. David Nunan, the Dean of our Graduate School of Education, has been appointed to the position of President of Anaheim University.  Dr. Nunan, who has been with the University since its founding in 1996 was instrumental in helping to design our online communication system, and in making AU's Masters in TESOL degree program the world's first entirely online TESOL degree program.  This, accompanied by Dr. Nunan's tireless efforts in instilling our "Students First, Always" policy and in making AU's TESOL program one of the finest in the world were key factors for the Board of Trustees' decision to appoint Dr. Nunan as the University's Chief Academic and Operating Officer.  Although Dr. Nunan in his role as President of Anaheim University will be taking on a number of new administrative duties, he has reduced some of his external commitments so that he will be able to devote a significant amount of time to his role as President while still serving as a regular professor and Dean of the School of Education at Anaheim University.

Dr. David Nunan received his Ph.D. in Education and Linguistics from Flinders University and is a distinguished linguist as well as author of a plethora of student and teacher training textbooks for such publishers as Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press and Thomson Learning. Many of his textbooks are used in the core Linguistics or TESOL curriculum at universities throughout the world. Dr. Nunan, a past president of the world's largest language teaching association, TESOL International, has been involved in the teaching of graduate programs for such prestigious institutions as Columbia University, the University of Hawaii, Monterey Institute for International Studies, and many more. In 2003, David Nunan was selected as one of the top 20 Australians in Asia by Business Review Weekly, and in 2005 he was named as one of the 50 most influential Australians internationally.

We are proud of all of our students and alumni, and we are confident that Dr. Nunan as President of Anaheim University, will continue to make you proud to be a member of Anaheim University's global community.

We wish you continued success in all of your endeavors.
